Anglicare Tasmania's Social Action and Research Centre (SARC) work with low income Tasmanians to identify the structural barriers which impact most severely on their lives. It is also informed by the direct experience of Anglicare's community services. SARC research focuses on the experiences of low-income Tasmanians and mental health, disability, housing affordability and income support.

Peak Bodies in Tasmania
The Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drugs Council (ATDC) is the peak body for the non-government alcohol, tobacco and other durgs service sector in Tasmania.
Shelter Tasmania is the peak body for housing and housing related issues in Tasmania.
The Tasmanian Association of Community Houses (TACH) is the peak body for 34 Community Houses and Neighbourhood Centres around the state. They are also part of a National Link collective, the Australia wide network for one thousand neighbourhood centres.
Volunteering Tasmania is the State's peak body on volunteering. Its core business is the promotion of and advocacy for volunteering, together with the provision of quality services in the form of support, education, training, consultancy and referral.
The NDS (National Disability Service) is the peak industry body for non-government disability services in Tasmania.
The Youth Network of Tasmania is the peak body for non-government youth services in Tasmania.
The Mental Health Council of Tasmania is the peak body representing the non government sector on Mental Health Issues. MHCT seeks to improve the mental health of the Tasmanian community by providing a focus on mental health activities and appropriate information to Tasmanians concerning mental health issues. MHCT aims to actively promote mental health within the community and through education improve the quality of life for people with mental heath and their carers. Contact admin@mhct.org
The Multicultural Council of Tasmania (MCOT) is the statewide peak community organisation representing people from diverse cultural, linguistic and religious backgrounds. It is a voluntary not for profit organisation promoting multiculturalism, community harmony and social justice and is involved in community education, lobbying and advocacy for equitable access to services and information.
